Thistle seeds

It's fall and the plants are sewing their seeds. That spiky thistle has the softest seeds that gently blow in the wind. It's no wonder the American Gold Finch birds choose this for their nests. The thistle is one of my favorite plants to paint.
This painting is 6 by 12 inches painted on canvas board with acrylic paint.

Nature's Treasures

It is wonderful to walk through the fields and woods and see all the different plants and flowers of nature. I gathered a few and came in to make an arrangement. I used 2 of Daniel Smith's watercolor trio sampler sets in making this painting. (Jaz and Northwoods) I love the challenge of a limited pallet.

Onions and tomato

In the fall of the year what is more wonderful to see and eat but fresh veggies right from the garden. These were a part of the basket filled with veggies from my friend. I just had to paint them.
