Thistle seeds


It's fall and the plants are sewing their seeds. That spiky thistle has the softest seeds that gently blow in the wind. It's no wonder the American Gold Finch birds choose this for their nests. The thistle is one of my favorite plants to paint.

Nature's Treasures


It is wonderful to walk through the fields and woods and see all the different plants and flowers of nature. I gathered a few and came in to make an arrangement. I used 2 of Daniel Smith's watercolor trio sampler sets in making this painting. (Jaz and Northwoods) I love the challenge of a limited pallet.

QueenAnn's Lace


Summer brings on the wild flowers. Some may call them weeds - but their flowers are still pretty. My unmowed field is filled with wild grasses and flowers. It is peppered with QueenAnn's Lace and little yellow flowers. One of Natures gardens.

Approaching storm

A Melody of Line


A lineleum block print. This is my first attempt at cutting and printing lineleum blocks. It is a lot of fun and many surprises as you pull off the prints to see what you have. No two are alike. You are not restricted to only black prints. Experimenting with color gives you many interesting effects.

This was a barn near my house that had been abandoned for many years. Shortly after I painted it they tore it down.
